Merlot Red
Vin de France

Winner of IWSC 2013, 2016 & 2017 Bronze.
Merlot is the world's most popular red grape variety thanks to its smooth, supple character. A deliciously drinkable wine. It is a fine choice to accompany roast and grilled meats and can be enjoyed with mellow cheeses.

Winemaking

The vineyards are located across the Languedoc on clayey and calcareous soils and Gabriel Meffre's winemakers spend many days on the road with vinegrowers to manage the crop. After the grapes have been destemmed and crushed, the juices are fermented for between 2 to 3 weeks on the grape skins.

Tasting Notes

A deliciously drinkable wine. It is a fine choice to accompany roast and grilled meats and can be enjoyed with mellow cheeses. The nose is redolent of plums and other stone fruits and the palate is fleshy and with a long, persistent finish.

"...a gold medal winner (Decanter). Judges look for a balance between fruit, depth, and maybe oak. This wine is perfectly balanced and this price is ridiculous for this quality, you do not get better value."
